What's in our watershed?  What IS a watershed?  Find out!

Watch out for Moses Lake's 10 Most Wanted stormwater polluters.

GREEN IT UP!

Vegetation is one of our greatest allies in the fight against surface water pollution. Vegetation has the ability to filter and treat many of the contaminants found in runoff before it enters the storm system.  In fact, some of the stormwater control measures use a vegetated conveyance system such as grassy swales or biofiltration ponds in order to treat stormwater and free it of contaminants.

Plant areas of your lot that do not have cover.   Keep bare spots out of your yard.  Make green choices in landscaping, such as considering options such as mulch, stone or pervious concrete rather than hardscaping with impervious concrete or asphalt.  Direct downspouts into porous material and away from paved surfaces. Keep a buffer between sources of pollution and surface water.

GREEN IS BEAUTIFUL!

KEEP IT UP!

It's easy to do.  The green movement is wherever you look.  It's easy.  It's cost effective.  Everyone is in on it.  And it's the right thing to do.  Help us keep our stormwater system clean and our waters pristine.
